A love of Schilcher from Wildbach to Deutschlandsberg

The Resch family’s winery is located in Wildbach, in the heart of Schilcher country in western Styria. Originally a traditional farm, viticulture became an increasingly important part of the business in the 1990s.
Today, a total of 19 hectares are cultivated – 90% of this area is planted with Blauer Wildbacher. The grapes enjoy ideal conditions in the vineyards and, after harvesting, are given the rest they need in the cellar to mature into dense, powerful, fruity wines. This philosophy allows the individual characters of the vineyards to be clearly recognised in the wines.
Since 2018, Elisabeth, a young, creative wine expert, has been working at the family winery. As the daughter of the owners, her love for Schilcher was instilled in her from birth. With a background in agriculture and viticulture, she now whirls through her parents’ business as a winegrower and cellar master – fresh and lively like Schilcher!
The family has created another foothold with the ‘klein&fein’ on the main square in Deutschlandsberg. Here, wine meets art and culture – a small, fine hotspot in the middle of the Schilcher town.
