Ajla Bešić
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Born in Zenica, Bosnia-Herzegovina, in 1999.
Ajla studied multimedia directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. She then went on to complete a master’s degree in photography.
Her work is influenced by her participation in international workshops. The resulting interdisciplinary approach combines performance, visual arts and social engagement. She sees photography as an exciting tool for engaging intensively with social and political issues.
Ajla currently works at the Bosnian National Theatre in Zenica, the Sarajevo War Theatre and the National Theatre in Sarajevo, actively contributing to the local and regional theatre scene.
