Kulturbotschaften

Art will be moving in where wine thrives all year round. For an entire week, cellar vaults, arcades and tavernas are going to be transformed into studios and gallery spaces. The picturesque scenery of Southern Styria will provide a source of inspiration to the artists and also serve as a showcase for presenting painting and photography.

From April 17 to 23, 2023, Southern Styria will be the fulcrum and meeting place for young international artists, winegrowers, local and regional visitors as well as representatives of international institutions in Austria. During this week, eight art loving wineries are going to welcome creative talent from eight countries, offering them residency and an inspiring work environment. By hosting one or more artists from a respective country, each winery serves as an “embassy“ for a national partner in this project. This should proliferate into a temporary network of Embassies of Art – “Kulturbotschaften Südsteiermark“.
